Founded

Advanced Underground Utility Locating

Hole In One Locating was built on a simple principle: find every line you reasonably can and give clients clear, usable information before they dig. We’ve spent years in the field learning what lies beneath different soils, sites, and conditions. One missed utility can cost thousands — in repairs, delays, and liability.

Our technicians arrive with advanced equipment, practical experience, and a job-site mindset. We treat every locate like the project depends on it — because it does.

Many clients call us when utilities are difficult to locate or when standard methods haven’t provided clear answers. Our experience and advanced equipment allow us to investigate complex sites and identify utilities that might otherwise remain hidden.

Today, we serve contractors, municipalities, universities, and infrastructure projects across Oregon.

Hole In One Locating is led by Rocky Stewart, an industry professional who also serves in leadership roles within Oregon’s utility safety organizations, contributing to excavation safety policy and education statewide.

Capability

The Equipment And Expertise That Sets Us Apart

We don’t just locate utilities — we locate them accurately using the right combination of technology and field experience. Our multi-method approach allows us to identify both conductive and non-conductive utilities when others can’t.

Advanced Locating Equipment

We invest in the tools that deliver results: electromagnetic locating, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and the All Materials Locator (AML). Combined with experienced technicians, this equipment allows us to detect utilities beneath the surface across a wide range of site conditions.

Finding what others can't

Many locators rely only on tracer wires. We use multiple methods and field-proven techniques to investigate utilities that are difficult to trace, including non-conductive infrastructure and complex underground conditions. This approach reduces uncertainty and helps prevent costly surprises during excavation.

Experience That Matters

Over 20 years in the field has taught us how utilities are actually installed — not just how they appear on plans. Our technicians know where problems hide, how to verify findings, and how to deliver clear markings and documentation you can trust.
